Most of the go-to lists in this series rely on my own reading [I still feel good about the 1978 picks], but researching opens up more thoughts and re-thoughts--especially this time. I've never read Murdoch--always seemed like I should, but also daunting. She has lots of fans, though. You'll have to report back. I might try Plumb from this list. You should try one of J. G.
